Trócaire Today FM 24Hour Fast

Fasting Alternatives

You don't have to fast for 24 hours to take part in this event. There are lots of different things you can do to raise money for Trócaire's work. Here are some fundraising ideas to get you thinking. But there's nothing like creating your own. Ask friends, neighbours, classmates or colleagues to help you out.

Cake Sale

Get baking and icing, cakes, buns and biscuits and sell them to your friends or colleagues - empty plates guaranteed.

Smoothly Does It

If you have a juicer and blender you could set up your own juice and smoothie bar in the office or at school to raise money as well as providing a healthy snack option for your classmates or colleagues.

Car Washing

Gather a few friends and provide a car washing service to family, friends, and neighbours. No one can resist the offer of a clean car.

Weed it Out

Put on your old clothes and gardening gloves and get weeding those flowerbeds. Mums, Dads and neighbours wil be only too happy to sponsor you.

A 70s Revival

Everyone loves dressing up, so dig out those flares and encourage yoru friends or colleagues to dress up for the day, at work or at school.

Be A Dare Devil

Creating a fun and light-hearted dare for yourself, colleagues, classmates or friends to complete is a great way to get everyone involved and to raise money. You can set up your sponsorship page here.

Here are some dares we thought of earlier...

1. Dare someone in your class or office to wear a wig for the day, even to meetings.
2. Dare firends, family or neighbours to leave their car at home and walk or take the bus.
3. Dare a classmate or a friend to wear a pair of novelty slippers for the day - monster feet slippers anyone?
4. Dare your friends to switch off their mobiles. No texts for a day! Could they handle it?
5. Dare a friend to sing along to their ipod out load on the school bus, train, or street.
